At Sound Speech Therapy, children receive personalized pediatric speech and language therapy in a small, supportive setting where every child is truly known and valued. As an owner-operated practice, I provide every evaluation and therapy session personally, allowing me to build a meaningful relationship with each child and family.

I provide individualized therapy for children with language delays, early communication needs, Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), motor speech disorders, articulation and phonological disorders, and oral myofunctional disorders. Through comprehensive speech-language evaluations, evidence-based and personalized therapy, and close collaboration with families, I create a therapy experience tailored to each child’s unique strengths, needs, and communication goals.

I also support toddlers and young children who are late talkers or showing signs of language delay, providing families with guidance and strategies to encourage communication development during everyday routines and interactions.

Welcome!

Hi! I’m Megan, a licensed speech-language pathologist and founder of Sound Speech Therapy. I am a mom of three with over 16 years of experience working with children with speech and language difficulties. I truly love coming to work each day. It is incredibly rewarding to support children as they develop their communication skills, build confidence, and reach their individual goals, and I feel honored to be entrusted with each child and family I work with.

While my hope is always to make a meaningful difference in each child’s life, I have found that the children I work with make such a lasting difference in mine as well. I am inspired every day by the incredible children and families I have the privilege of getting to know.

Getting started

  • Our first phone call is a chance for me to get to know a little more about your child, what concerns brought you here, and what you’re looking for in therapy. We’ll talk through your questions, gather some background information, and discuss next steps. If we decide to move forward with an evaluation, we’ll schedule a date, create your child’s patient portal account, and I’ll send over the forms you’ll need.

  • The next step is to verify your insurance benefits. I am in-network with BCBS PPO only. All families planning to use insurance benefits, whether through in-network coverage or by submitting a superbill for possible reimbursement, should contact their insurance provider before the evaluation to confirm coverage and benefits. You can find a list of helpful questions to ask your insurance company on the FAQ page to guide you through this process.

  • The evaluation is a comprehensive process designed to better understand your child’s communication skills, strengths, and areas of need. It includes a parent interview, observation, and a combination of formal and informal assessment activities. If an oral myofunctional evaluation is recommended, the evaluation may also include assessment of eating and drinking skills.

    At the end of the evaluation, we will discuss my initial impressions, recommendations, and any next steps for your child. You will receive a comprehensive evaluation report that details your child’s strengths, areas of need, and recommendations, including an individualized treatment plan if ongoing therapy is recommended.

  • If therapy is recommended, we will discuss next steps, including recommended frequency and session length, following the evaluation. Therapy is individualized to each child’s strengths, needs, and goals. My goal is to provide meaningful, highly effective therapy while creating a positive experience where children feel comfortable, confident, and excited to participate.

Insurance & Billing

Sound Speech Therapy is in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. Sessions are billed directly to BCBS based on your individual benefits. For all other insurance plans, Sound Speech Therapy is considered out-of-network and payments can be made using HSA/FSA or credit card. Superbills can be provided upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
